SO WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT THEN!

'IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK. I'M LITERALLY  CHOMPING AT THE BIT TO RELEASE THIS NEW SINGLE. I BELIEVE THIS IS MY BEST WORK YET!" - CHLOË

Since her debut album 'Dustbowl Jukebox', of which topped the UK Country iTunes charts back in 2017, alongside a whole host of festivals and a UK album tour reaching 7 major cities, Chloe took a well earned break after 15 years of performing non stop across the UK & Europe. However, she is now back in full swing, and we can't wait to hear all about her exciting new single!

"Rattling Bones, is the first single I shall be releasing in 2023! The single will be released on Friday 5th May on all social media platforms.  Working on new material definitely took longer than expected, but this time, there was no room for error or mistakes, it just had to be right and I'm really pleased with the outcome of Rattling Bones. The foundations of the song actually came about nearly a decade ago. I've had it in my collection of demos just waiting to be picked up again and finished. Lock down gave me a great opportunity to re-work some of these demo's and bring them to life, as well as work on new material.  Rattling Bones was one song that I knew had great potential. Turns out it's now my first single this year and I'm really excited for its release.

The song is about taking back control of ones life. It's a positive empowerment story with a dark undertone. A story of empowerment, not one of being empowered by another, but it's about taking your power back, and knowing when to make the decision that enough is enough and not be willing to continue to be treat badly."

Press / Reviews

Refocusing her musical direction away from the country rock sound that characterised her 2017 album Dustbowl Jukebox, Cheshire based singer-songwriter Chloe Chadwick brings a fresh set of ideas to the table in a new single, ‘Rattling Bones’. Floating into life with an ethereal swell of melodic feedback and muted guitar, the track quickly gathers pace with a driving percussion that locks in effectively with Chadwick’s vocal narrative.  As the song builds into a powerfully delivered chorus, it continues to retain a darker mood to it, both lyrically and melodically. Such textures are reminiscent of US songstress Lissie and her early sounds on debut album Catching a Tiger. The instrumental arrangements are a key part of this feature, as Chadwick weaves a smooth blend of acoustics together with the compliments of gain-laden electric and slide guitar.   Rattling Bones represents a bold shift from the airy positivity of some of her previous tracks such as Summertime Loving, but at the same time it symbolises a maturing and a more nuanced approach to her song writing.  With its layering of anthemic chordal work and a strong vocal attack, the single is sure to feature prominently in Chadwick’s live performance catalogue and to draw a more diverse audience to her existing fanbase. A thoughtful and sophisticated offering, Rattling Bones is well worth a place in any discerning listener’s download choice for May 2023 and it will be interesting to see if the single signifies the green shoots of growth into a new genre for Chadwick’s song writing career.  Watch this space!” - Mark Bushell
